Alex Wilson

Alex Wilson is a DC-based harm reductionist and sex educator. Professionally Wilson works as a Research Assistant and the Artistic Program Director at SPARC, a harm-reduction center for women and non-men located in Baltimore, Maryland. Before coming to work at SPARC, Wilson worked as Overdose-Response specialist at HIPS. With a background as a community organizer, Wilson focuses on serving the needs of marginalized communities by addressing stigma and understanding the structural forces that both manufacture and exacerbate harm. Addressing stigma along with anti-drug user and anti-sex worker bias as they inform our structural, interpersonal, and intra-personal spheres. With a framework grounded in empathy, somatic trauma theory, and communal care Wilson works diligently to prioritize healing, client-centeredness, accessibility, and trauma-informed care for the people and communities they serve.
