Harriet Smith (she/her) grew up in Woodlawn, Baltimore County and then moved to Baltimore City where she’s lived ever since. She’s been using many of the principles of harm reduction since childhood to handle severe mental illness and family trauma. She has spent the last 15 or so years working in racial justice and harm reduction organizations, including YANA, Power Inside, YES, BRJA, and SURJ. She loves all things harm reduction and teeny round birds and baby hippos. She serves as director of education with Baltimore Harm Reduction Coalition, where she has been for 4 years.
